Linux OS

One of the most commonly used DNS-caching Linux applications is NSCD (Name Service Cachine Daemon). If you have NSCD installed, you can clear the local DNS cache by running one of the following commands in your favorite terminal/shell application:

sudo /etc/init.d/dns-clean start

sudo /etc/init.d/nscd restart

Another option to flush local DNS cache is to run the following command in the Terminal:

$ sudo systemd-resolve --flush-caches

You can check if the cache was flushed successfully, using this command:

$ sudo systemd-resolve --statistics

If you see a zero by the Current Cache Size, you have successfully flushed your system's cache.

That's it!
